What is PBCF?
PBCF device was developed in 1987 by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, West Japan Fluid Engineering Laboratory, and Mikado Propeller (Nakashima Propeller) and it has been adopted by installed on more than 3,500 vessels worldwide.
Its fundamental mechanism and effects have been repeatedly verified through numerous series of model tank tests and actual ship measurements from the first stage of the development.

Easy to replace a conventional cap with PBCF
Replace a conventional cap with PBCF
As same as the installation of a normal propeller cap, PBCF is installed by the fastening bolts. It normally takes half a day even for large ships.
PBCF installation does not require any change in shafting arrangement since the mass of PBCF is negligibly small for the shafting system.
A torque wrench and fastening bolts will be included as accessories of PBCF. We will provide the proper fastening torque in the PBCF drawing.
